Down here in South Florida, it is getting to be that time of year where the mullet will start their migration along the east coast.
With the bait comes the predators - ie - sharks, tarpon, jack, snook etc.
Here is a 100lb+ tarpon we caught during one of the past mullet runs. We were fishing the beach with live mullet when we hooked into this beast. Another boat was fishing near us and captured some of the fight and the release on camera. We then traded the captain some live bait for the pics. They turned out pretty good.
Here is an epic video that I found on you tube that shows some great aerial footage of the mullet getting crushed on the beach.
Here is another video from my buddies - hydrophilik. They were approached by national geographic to use some of their footage for one of their shows!!
Is this incredible or what?
This time of year is truly one of my most favorite times of the year to go fishing because of the shear awesomeness of these feeding fish!!!
What season of fishing is coming up in your neck of the woods? Please share your favorite time of year to fish and why in the comments or on the FB group page.
Also, please feel free to share this with all of your colleagues and invite them to the Reel Docx Facebook Group and to join the newsletter.
I hope everyone continues to stay safe during these crazy times!

During the Mullet Run in the fall, one of the easiest things to do is chunk bait on the flat. Cut a mullet in half or ladyfish chunks. Cast out into a school of mullet and wait. For sure a redfish, Gator trout, jack crevalle, and sharks Galore
