During the Mullet Run in the fall, one of the easiest things to do is chunk bait on the flat. Cut a mullet in half or ladyfish chunks. Cast out into a school of mullet and wait. For sure a redfish, Gator trout, jack crevalle, and sharks Galore
Adam, I have never tried that but I have always heard that it is effective. Have you ever chunked the bigger mullet? I am going to start keeping some ladyfish and giving that a try!!
Bigger chunk the better, as it prevents catfish from taking it. As the water cools in the fall, there are less 🐱 to deal with. Also, big chunk will hold the bottom in the tide, usually 50 lb leader with circle hook, no weights. Fight on the 4000 or 5000 series. If you want to target sharks, as bit of wire, but I don't. I got some spots to take you in FP. And after 1st cold front comes in around Thanksgiving, I switch to target flounder.
